Keeping Safe at Your home

I have spent a lot of time talking about home security with a lot of homeowners. I am attempting to get some insight on different ways our homes become at risk. I asked each person I spoke with if they had ever witnessed suspicious actions at their home. It could be burglary, broken windows, a suspicious individual – whatever. I was surprised that almost everybody had a story to tell. Most of the experiences led them to install a security system. I have been told that Lake Forest Home Security is a popular choice.

One person told me that he had been home for the afternoon, but left to pick his little boy up from baseball practice. When they returned about twenty minutes later, one of the windows on their house was shattered and a few things were missing inside. He suspected that he had been watched, and that the robber knew once he left the house. Another mother of 3 explained that she opened the door for someone who claimed to be a salesman. After the guy pitched his sale, he asked if he could come inside to speak more about it. She said no thanks, and the man again replied by asking if he could still come inside to use her phone. Considering the man was being so persistent, she again declined and closed the door.

All of us have had our encounters with shady people and situations. Some experiences are worse than others, like that of the first man. The information I am researching will help me figure out what encourages people to purchase a home security system. The woman said she quickly opted to get one the very next day.

I have learned about plenty of comparable stories from other families. People never know what is going to happen on a given day. I am positive these people did not wake up that morning and think something out of the ordinary would happen later that day. It really emphasizes the importance of being proactive.
